Task Details
The working memory period task can be categorised in the 'complex-span' WM tasks
as it requires the participant to store representations to be recalled later but
doing so while engaging in other forced cognitive processing. What differentiates
the working memory period task is that the number of items to remember in a trial
remains static throughout. The difficulty of the task is manipulated through the
length of the mathematicla operations the participant has to complete in order to
reveal the to-be-remembered item.
